Ority GO – Test: how this gaming backpack finally convinced me

Just a few weeks before, I had already purchased a more expensive laptop backpack and was completely satisfied with it. The size, the volume and the many small pockets make it a solid companion for trips and trips. And then the Ority GO fluttered into my mailbox, or in front of it. I was skeptical that Ority would hold a candle to my newly chosen shoulder mate.

After unpacking, the products were inspected for quality. After all, the Ority Go will cost you as much as a 15.6-inch gaming laptop. €119.90. From the zipper to the stitching, everything seemed premium. The interior with the padded laptop compartment also made a good impression. I found and continue to find the heaviness and stiffness of the bag particularly pleasing. The Ority Go stands on its own and is pretty hard and stable on the outside, which is reassuring considering the $1,300 device I carry with me. My classic laptop backpack doesn’t feel shock and drop proof. Point for Ority.

I think the system with the Ority embeds is great in theory. The backpack does not come with these little helpers, but you can buy them for additional money. There are protectors for keyboards and mouse pads, headphones, controls, consoles, camera equipment and office supplies. All wonderfully padded and with a velcro system so that it does not slide inside the open interior of the backpack. Behind the easily interchangeable front, which is attached to the backpack with Velcro and magnets, there are a few more flat compartments for mobile phones, papers, keys and more. Unfortunately for me there was a catch.

My gaming laptop is 15.6″ and I only use it with an extra sleeve. It fits perfectly in my regular laptop backpack and even has air. Not so with the Ority GO. The laptop only fits here without a sleeve protective and can only be removed through the side opening, and not by reaching into the bag from above, as I am used to.That was a bit awkward.I would have expected a little more space for the guest of honor in this backpack. Also, if something goes wrong or you simply forget to zip it up, a side zipper is not the safest option.

But I’m a fan of creative solutions, so I just rearranged the design of my Ority backpack. My laptop cooler is now placed in the laptop compartment along with the mouse pad, the laptop itself, including the protective cover, opposite the compartment intended for this. The inlays that I have misappropriated, instead of a keyboard, I put a mouse and a controller, I put them in front of him. Nothing slips, the laptop is well protected, it is not exposed to the side zipper and I can reach it perfectly. However, there is little space for headphones in the large case, because the 25 liters fill up quite quickly. There’s rarely room for little extras outside of gaming equipment. Maybe the 17.3-inch version with a volume of 35 liters would be more suitable for me?

The smaller version also doesn’t have a hip or shoulder strap, which I usually like because they also ease the back a bit. In fact, even the small Ority GO filled to the brim does not present any problems for the shoulders or the back. The back padding, the stable format and the soft shoulder straps do a great job. I don’t sweat and I don’t have any pain either while using it or after. The more I’ve used the Ority, the more comfortable I feel with it. It has already accompanied me on foot, by bike and in the car and has also served as a sports bag, a travel bag for a short trip and a hand luggage on the plane – all without complaint and without showing a single sign of wear. My other new backpack has been on vacation for a long time.

Ority GO in the test: the conclusion

The Ority GO is well thought out, but if it doesn’t fit, it can be custom made. The good quality and the stable appearance convinced me and the water-repellent material did not leave you helpless in the rain, especially since you can also buy a rain cape. Everything was and is absolutely wonderfully safe in the belly of the Ority GO. Ergonomically I have nothing to complain about, I am much more surprised at how well the backpack absorbs the kilos of my gaming equipment. As a gaming backpack, the laptop compartment should offer enough space; with Ority it can be tight if your device is at the limit of the specifications. The side zipper is also a small thorn in my side. But that was about all points of criticism. And even if I look like a ninja turtle with this big bag on my back (that can be a good thing too!), I really like using the Ority GO now.
