Two thieves broke into the “Freddy Fresh” delivery service on Sommerfelder Strasse on Sunday morning, just before 9 am One of them ripped a secured tablet from the wall. They also pocketed 75 euros in change and took the key to a delivery vehicle.
Too bad they hit right under a surveillance camera.
While one thief manipulates a secure tablet, the second enters the store without a mask.
“The police said there was a good chance of catching the thieves,” says managing director Benjamin Amende (38). As can be seen from the images, the men were not wearing gloves. “This made it easier to secure the DNA,” reports Amende.
It was already daytime when the robbery occurred. “In order not to be seen, the two of them crawled under the shop window, but we also have cameras there.”
One of the robbers was unmasked, the other had just pulled the hood of his sweater over his head so that parts of his face are also showing, which should make things even easier for investigators.
Soon after, the police were already in business. Even before the change began, the forensics were done. “Our employees just stayed away from the areas where the thieves were staying and also wore gloves in case the police had to come back.”
The boss of the pizzeria estimates the total damage at 3,800 euros. “The most expensive thing is to repair the entrance doors. Fortunately, the delivery vehicle was still there. I don’t know why they left it. At least we were able to deliver again a little later and we had no more losses. The car will be used for another branch first.”
