2. Describe your problem. The more precise and better you describe your problem, the better we can help you (additional images might be helpful, for example):
I don’t have a problem directly, just because the CPU is new to me, I have a question about the performance, especially in Cinebench23.
I hope that you forgive me
So far I’ve been on a 3700X with Wraith Prism, I changed the PSU to 750W a few weeks ago because a CPU upgrade was planned anyway.
The conversion these days went smoothly, the CPU and cooler installation, or assembly and electrical connections are fine in my opinion.
The computer basically runs smoothly and of course with a clearer improvement compared to the 3700, as far as I can see so far on a day to day basis.
The RAM is 3600, as before, I have not changed anything significant on the data carrier, the CPU is supplied with 1*8 AND 1*4 sockets from the NT. PBO on, rest unchanged, power setting on Win set to high performance.
Temperatures seem fine too, ~40° on desktop, ~60° with heavier use, Cinebench ~80°,
Max Priming 85° – In my opinion the cooler assembly is just as adequate.
What I specifically noticed in Cinebench 23:
My 3700 scored around 12,000 points; the 5950 maxed out at almost 19,000. Seems a bit low to me, read about average 24/25K values without serious OC measurements.
AIDA stability test: approx 88°, CPU power consumption according to RyzenMaster around 170W.
The output of CB23 irritates me more and I wonder if I should modify the configuration again, and if so, where?
Of course, I did some research, but somehow I didn’t find a satisfactory answer, the differences in benchmarks are too high in my opinion.
Like I said, eig works satisfactorily for my current jobs and of course much better than before, but I’m just starting to deal with the CPU.
Are the results okay for you or is there still a need for action/opportunities that I missed?
greeting
Yoda
3. What steps have you already taken/tried to solve the problem and what did you do?
Installation and wiring checked – no result
Changed CPU settings: PBO enable/disable, kernel optimization enable/disable, no result
various tips (see below)
PS: Also note the various pinned topics and forum search. You may already find the solution to your problem there.
The thread from a few months ago on exactly this topic
https://www.computerbase.de/forum/t…core-performance-ryzen-9-5950x.2074763/page-5
I read it and, to the extent that it applied to me and made sense, I processed it, unfortunately with the same unsatisfying result.
It almost seems like I’ll have to wait for a future biography.
About a year ago I already had the same phenomenon with the 3700, the benchmarks were cut in half and that was only resolved with a new BIOS.
But maybe someone has a bright idea now
