Asus’ ROG phones are some of the best gaming phones out there. In a few weeks we expect the release of the sixth generation, which will accordingly be called ROG Phone 6. While we can still guess the name, a huge leak about the new gaming machine appeared on the web. We summarize everything you need to know.
The new images and specs show a Tencent-branded model, but it’s much more symmetrical. Take a look at the image below.
- The ROG Phone 6 (and ROG Phone 6 Pro) are said to be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
- The design differs significantly from previous models, but the white hue is really stylish!
- A 6.78-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate is expected.
- The weight is 239 grams and the dimensions should be 172.83 x 77.25 x 10.39 mm.
The ROG Phone 6’s purported specs include a 3.2GHz octa-core chipset, 18GB of RAM, 512GB of fixed storage, a 50MP main rear camera, and a 13MP ultrawide rear camera. As in the image above, we can see a third lens on the back, but it’s not clear what Asus is planning here.
I imagine it could be used for in-game messages or other notifications. Unsurprisingly, some rumors are still vague: RAM and storage specs may vary – will it be 16GB or 18GB of RAM? We are not sure what memory comes from the factory with the device.
Slightly thicker than the ROG Phone 5, the device is likely to be powered by a large 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. Both versions (the 6 and Pro) are said to offer two USB Type-C charging ports, one on the side for horizontal loading and one on the bottom.
Asus has recently announced that this TENAA-certified gem will be splash-proof and also touts that it’s the “world’s first IPX4 gaming phone.” And while there isn’t much in this article other than specs, you can be sure you’ll be hearing more about the gaming phone once Asus provides us with the details. The next flagship gaming phone will be unveiled on July 5. So stay tuned!
