Calligraphr’s online service will help you create a True Type (TTF) font with your own handwriting.
The basic version of the service is free. Save the finished font to the Windows Fonts folder, where it is available in most Windows applications, such as Word.
This is how you do it:
Sign up for free at
www.calligraphr.com
with an email address. Now download a template from Calligraphr. In this you enter all the desired characters with your handwriting. In the free version you only have one template with a limited number of characters. But that’s enough for testing purposes.
To download, select “Template” at the top and then “Minimal German” on the left. Clicking “Download Template –› Download –› Calligraphr-Template.pdf” loads the pages with characters on your computer. Print this and handwrite each character on the template in the corresponding cell. Scan the following pages. A photo with a good smartphone camera is also sufficient in good lighting.

You can convert your own handwriting to a font. The Calligraphr website, which creates a true-to-type font from scanned handwriting, helps with this.
Back on the website

select “My Fonts -> Load Templates” above. Now upload the scans from both sides one after the other and confirm “Add characters to my fonts” in each case.
With “Create Fonts”, you allow the website to create a font file and then download it in TTF format for Windows. Then copy the downloaded file to the Windows fonts folder at “C:\Windows\Fonts”. Have the font name when creating it

does not change, it reads “Myfonts” and then appears with this name in Windows and therefore in Word and other word processors. Libre Office users download their fonts in OFT format and then save the file in the Libre Office program folder under “Libreoffice\Data\fonts”.

To create a nice typeface, a lot of fine work is required when creating the font. Calligraphr’s FAQ provides the necessary advice.
Improvement:
On your first try, the result will probably not meet your expectations. The text is made up of your characters, but they are lined up the same way and awkwardly. The result can be improved with various adjustment screws. You can find good suggestions for improvement on the website. However, you can only implement many of them if you use the paid version of Calligraphr.
However, at $8 per month, this is cheap. Because the font file you download will work even if you cancel the subscription. For a one-time payment of US$8, you can create your own true type font with your handwriting. However, you should plan some time to optimize your font.
Advice:
The unofficial successor to OpenOffice, LibreOffice, in the current version 6 provides users with numerous office tools for text editing, spreadsheets and Co.
