As is well known, the Soulslike adventure “Lies of P” will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, among others. According to the responsible developers at Neowiz, the hardware differences between the two consoles are irrelevant when working on “Lies of P”.
Last year, the developers at Neowiz announced Lies of P, a new Souls-like adventure that is currently in the works for PC and current-gen consoles.
In a recent interview, the creators of Neowiz worked on “Lies of P” and the hardware differences between PlayStation 5 on the one hand and Xbox Series X on the other. Even if Microsoft’s console is a bit ahead on paper, the hardware differences in the development of “Lies of P” did not lead to any problems.
Rather, as the developers at Neowiz explained to Gamingbolt, the hardware differences make no sense when working on “Lies of P.”
Developers benefit from FidelityFX Super Resolution
“As we get further into optimization on our end, the difference between the two models is pretty much meaningless to us,” he says. Developers had high praise for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, which could greatly simplify game development and optimization for years to come and ensure better performance.
“Super Resolution was a great help in development as it can further improve the quality of graphics. We hope that this type of solution will continue to be updated and developed in the future,” said the development team.
More reports on Lies of P:
Lies of P is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S and is currently scheduled for release in 2023. As already stated this week, there are two different viewing modes offered on the consoles. Performance mode is based on a 60 frames per second display at native 1440p.
Number two in the bunch is Quality mode, in which “Lies of P” is conjured up on screen in native 4K resolution and 30FPS. According to their own statements, the developers would like to offer 4K and 60FPS in quality mode, but it remains to be seen if this project can be implemented on consoles.
