Attention clients of Caja de Ahorros and Volksbank: beware of these new scams

Date:

Sparkasse and Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken customers should now beware of new scams. Criminals try to obtain sensitive user data with fake emails. Read here what you should pay special attention to right now.

The Schleswig-Holstein Consumer Center warns Customers of the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken are currently facing a phishing scam. In the emails, users are informed of an alleged “suspicious transfer” amounting to 4,999 euros. It is said that this has already been canceled, but the user must now perform an account verification through an attached link.

As is often the case, the emails are fraud attempts, through which the attackers want to obtain their victims’ account details. In this case, the messages are relatively easy to expose as fake based on the not very serious email address “[email protected]”.

If you have received one of the emails, you should move them to your spam folder without receiving a response.

Customers of Savings Banks are also once again the target of scammers

Sparkasse customers should also be careful again about phishing attacks.

The consumer care center has also been warning of a scam targeting Sparkasse customers for a few days now. It says that Sparkasse allegedly developed the so-called “Sparkassen Fingerprint System (SKFS)”. This is to protect against unauthorized access to user accounts. Recipients would just have to click the link in the email to activate it.

Also in this case it is again a fraud attempt with which the attackers want to get hold of the account data of their victims. Similar to the phishing attack described above, you should also move these emails directly to the spam folder.
