Done in three games: G2 Esports dominantly prevailed against Misfits Gaming in the League of Legends LEC European league playoffs and is now through to the semi-finals.
“It was a good race,” said G2’s Rasmus “caPs” Winther in an interview after the victory. “I’m glad we got a second chance. We gain confidence when we play on stage and I think it shows.”
From the beginning, G2 was in charge. Misfits then managed to cut the deficit again and delay G2’s victory with the dragon soul steal, but ultimately had to admit defeat to their opponent.
That carried over into the next game: This one was much more one-sided. G2 showed the class of him, dispatching the Misfits in just 27 minutes.
In the decisive third game, G2 continued to press the accelerator. This time, Misfits managed to stay in the game for at least a little while. But G2 was not impressed by that and made the final score of 3-0 perfect. Next weekend the team will play Fnatic for the final.
