Some time ago, Google started the development of Android 12L announced and revealed the first details. Now the final version has been presented and some of the new features have been revealed. Android 12L is an update to Android 12 and is aimed at devices with large screens. This includes tablets and foldable mobile phones, but also smartphones with large screens like the Pixel 6 Pro (source: Google). The new operating system settings appear where they are needed. Otherwise you have the previous Android available.

Samsung adopts Google’s new Android 12L operating system. Although the company has already made adjustments to its tablets and folding phones with the “One UI”, it still trusts Google solutions. Later in the year should be the corresponding Give update for Samsung tablets and folding cell phones. It is conceivable that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will appear directly with Android 12L in the fall. Furthermore, the changes should also flow directly to Android 13. So there could be an overlap in the operating systems.

But not only does Samsung want to use Google’s new operating system on its tablets and folding phones, Lenovo and Microsoft are there too. Other manufacturers are likely to follow suit over time, because Android tablets and flip phones will become more and more important in the years to come.
