With a simple cell phone trick: Man finds hidden camera in Airbnb apartment
A TikTok user explains in his videos how you can easily find hidden cameras with your own cell phone.
Georgia (United States) – Everyone knows the uncomfortable feeling of being secretly watched or recorded at work, in a hotel, or in a private rented room. A TikTok user has now revealed a simple trick on how to find hidden cameras and unmask spying.

Many tourists trust “Airbnb” and vacation apartments. Private people usually rent their own four walls, but they don’t necessarily trust their guests. And it may happen that the owner wants to protect himself with a hidden camera, although, of course, it is illegal.
Some are probably just worried about their belongings, others may also want to film strangers in intimate situations.
Whatever the reason for installing a hidden camera in rented rooms: If a guest wants to at least secure something, 99 percent of the time they have something in their pocket that can help them.

In its Video you can see the TikToker in a room in front of a bookshelf. Inside there are many books, plants and decorative elements. What he doesn’t immediately recognize, however, is the small surveillance camera on one of the shelves.
It’s only when “pootersnoots” turns off the light in the room and turns on his cell phone camera that the suspicious lights suddenly flicker in the dark.
“That’s how you find out if you’re being spied on,” he writes about his video. “Feel free to share so others can be aware of it.”

- First turn off all the lights in the room.
- Open your phone’s camera – important: The cheat only works with the front camera.
- Then point the smartphone at anything that looks suspicious. This could be, for example, fans in the bathroom, smoke detectors on the ceiling, clocks, or fans.
With the trick, the cell phones recognize aloud future zone infrared radiation from hidden cameras. What is not visible to our eyes, the lens of our smartphone can perceive. It appears as a bright white light on the screen.
Then you need to turn on the light in the room again and take a close look at the affected object.
