The decrease in turnover occurred in the retail sale of cultural and recreational goods (by 15.5%), the retail sale of hardware, construction tools and materials, and sanitary equipment (by 14.9% ) and the retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (14.6%). ).

Total turnover of retail trade companies at current prices, excluding the effect of calendar days, increased by 5.9%.

The greatest decrease in turnover was produced in the retail sale through stalls and markets (20.9%), the retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (19.4%) and the sale to the retail of pharmaceutical and medical products (9.4%).

In November 2021, compared to October, the total turnover of retail trade companies at current prices, excluding seasonality, decreased by 5.4%.

In November, food product retail turnover grew slightly faster than before and was 2.6% higher than in November 2020.

Retail fuel billing at gas stations in November was similar to the previous month and decreased by 2.4% compared to November 2020.

In general, in January-November of this year, the turnover of the retail trade increased by 1.8%, according to the Ministry of Economy (MoE).

Non-food retail trade increased 1.7%, fuel retail trade increased 6%, while food trade was virtually unchanged at 0.4%.

The MoE predicts that the future situation of retail will also be affected by the spread of the Covid-19 infection and measures to control it. Citizens continue to be encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities offered by distance selling and consequently to visit outlets less frequently.

CONTEXT:

In October 2021, compared to October 2020, the turnover of the retail trade decreased by 2.3%. Turnover in September compared to September 2020 increased by 3.9%. Turnover in August compared to August 2020 increased 3.7%. In July, compared to July last year, increased by 4.8%, retail in June billing increased by 5.9%. In May and April, on the other hand, the annual turnover of the retail trade decreased respectively. by 3.2% to 15.6%due to the Covid-19 crisis and the measures taken to control the spread of the infection. In March 2021, the retail turnover increased annually. by 3.2%, but in February of this year it was 8.5% less than a year ago. Also in January 2021 January annual retail turnover decreased by 8.9%.

In 2020, compared to 2019, the turnover of the retail trade increased by 1.5%. On the other hand, in 2019, compared to 2018, the turnover of the retail trade increased by 2.3%.
