Today, Wednesday night, Riot Games announces that an exclusive champion will appear in Teamfight Tactics for the first time! Consequently, the character “Silco”, known from Riot Games’ new Netflix animated series Arcane, will be implemented in Auto Battle.
In the past, Riot Games had always taken Teamfight Tactics champions from League of Legends and integrated them into the game at the earliest at the same time as the MOBA. That will change for the first time with the upcoming mid-set 6.5 update. While there is no trace of Silco in League of Legends (and he won’t be there for the TFT mid-set update of machines and gadgets), he can definitely plan the ruler of the lower city for his TFT armies in the future.
As Riot Games explained in the context of the announcement, the implementation of Silco as TFT Champion faced special challenges. Consequently, one did not have a LoL champion template, which one could orient oneself to in terms of skills, animations, and co. We are happy that we started to realize the idea from the beginning, so that we can share the first material with the community at an early stage.
You can even watch the first concept video:
However, it is requested to take into account that it is a content in the development process, which will consequently continue to develop and change until its completion. While they aren’t currently ready to talk about Silco’s abilities in TFT, promise now that he will be a true mastermind in battle.
More foreign champions on the go?
The author of the current announcement, Rodger ‘MinionsRpeople2’ Caudill, Communications Specialist and TFT Writer at Riot Games, said an extremely exciting detail at the end of the article.
While Silco will be the first unit not to be taken from League of Legends to appear in Teamfight Tactics, other foreign characters may be added in the future. He even talks about possible additions to the group of units that don’t even come from the Runeterra universe, which both TFT and Arcane, LoL, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra and company play in.
If this refers to characters from other Riot Games projects like VALORANT or even heroes and champions from other developers and publishers, it remains completely open at this time. So it could well happen that at some point in one of the following series, for example, Sage, Omen or Jett appear.
