Panchkula Municipal Corporation and the Chandigarh administration have adopted the smart watch attendance system.
Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that state government officials will have to wear smart watches to monitor their movements during office hours. They will also serve as a tool for marking attendance.
“All state government officials will wear smart watches that will track their movements during business hours. It will also serve as a tool for marking attendance, ”Khattar said during a ‘Vikas’ rally in Sarmathala village in Sohna on Saturday.
According to the CM, the measure will show progress by eliminating errors in the list above and subsequent biometric systems. The new system “will bring transparency and accountability at work, and will eliminate false, duplicate and false appearances,” the prime minister said.
He said: “We are going to introduce smart watches that will only track the officer who has been designated. The watch will stop working if someone else uses it. In this way, the movements of all government officials in Haryana will be tracked. “
Referring to the manual method of marking attendance in the register before 2014, Khattar said: “An employee comes to the office after one week and marks every day of the week in the attendance register. We introduced a biometric system after the arrival of our government to discipline government employees and ensure regular attendance.
Currently, the Panchkula Municipal Corporation and the Chandigarh administration have adopted a smart watch attendance system. But criticism has started from employees who claim that the GPS monitoring system violated their privacy.
