A giant rock with a perfect fission in the middle in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shocked and puzzled internet pioneers, who are trying to find out what happened.
The huge rock, known as Al-Naslah Rock, is made of sandstone and is located in Tayma Oasis, northwest of Saudi Arabia.

The rock is 30 feet high and 25 feet wide and has an inscription showing what is believed to be a man on horseback.
However, it is not the rock carvings that draw the crowd, but the division in the middle that appears to have been cut by a laser beam.
The Rock divided the views of Reddit users, who joked that aliens did it, claiming the split was so subtle and smooth that it must have been the result of an alien visit to Earth in the distant past.

This group of conspiracy theorists has speculated that the split may have arisen when an alien “manipulated a super laser pointer on a random planet and accidentally cut the rock in half.”
Another theory suggests that ancient civilizations were more advanced than previously thought. A YouTube video speculates that the training is evidence of early “high-tech”.
But, according to geologist Sherry Lewis, the split is actually a natural phenomenon, indicating that it is likely caused by climatic factors that “melt the ice.”
“The split may have formed due to a process called freeze-thaw erosion, which occurs when water hits a small crack in the rock,” Lewis, an honorary researcher at the University of Bristol, told the Daily Mail.
“As temperatures drop, the water freezes and expands, causing the fissure to widen and elongate. When the ice melts, the water moves deeper into the fissure.”
Lewis explained that the process then repeated itself, over thousands or even millions of years, until the rock finally broke apart.

“This process, along with wind erosion, which is similar to sandblasting in a desert environment, could also explain why the rock was alone in this way.”
Lewis indicated that he does not rule out human involvement in the matter, saying: “Given that earlier civilizations created Stonehenge and the carvings on Easter Island with the simplest tools, it seems likely that (the leaf rock) was made by the man. “
Geologist and geophysicist Professor Tim Reston, from the University of Birmingham, also shared his thoughts on the strange formation, saying that the split is “most likely a crack, a natural fracture in the rock generally caused by pressure release and expansion, It was formed when one layer of rock was within another layer, and is now exposed due to erosion from the surrounding areas.
The rock formation is an eight hour drive from Riyadh and can be reached by car. Archaeological excavations in the area revealed flint dating to the fourth millennium BC.
