The first amendment to the agreement signed last June provided that the 42 French players selected for the summer tour in Australia could not start the Top 14 with their club until Matchday 2.
But at the insistence of the clubs, the federal office of the FFR and the steering committee of the LNR agreed to grant exemptions to the summoned players who did not play any test in July.
These internationals will now be able to be on deck from the weekend of September 4 and 5, on the first day of the Championship. The news became official on Tuesday, through a declaration published on the FFR website, thus confirming the information of Southwestern.
One week of vacation to catch up before November 28
Nine players are affected: Étienne Fourcade (Clermont), Patrick Sobela (Lyon), Florent Vanverberghe (Castres), Tani Vili (Clermont), Joris Segonds (Stade Français), Alivereti Raka (Clermont), Romain Buros (UBB), Gervais Cordin (Toulon) and Clovis Le Bail (Pau).
Suddenly, the five weeks of vacation these nine players were going to take at the end of the tour will turn into four weeks. The fifth will be taken a little later, on a date to be chosen by each player in consultation with their club, but it must be before November 28, 2021.
