Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed the disappearance of the traditional steering wheel in all models of its electric vehicles.

So the updated Tesla Model S got an unusually shaped steering wheel – it’s a clunky U-shaped steering wheel without a top bar.
Car and Driver has asked the National Transportation Safety Board for comment on the legality of using the steering wheel in modern production vehicles. USA (NHTSA). The department responded that it did not “approve” the decision, but was unable to draw conclusions before the vehicle went on sale, adding that manufacturers were responsible for complying with current safety regulations.
