Elements of the State Police detained this afternoon three men accused of shooting at them in Tonalá.

The Secretary of State Security reported that as they were driving along Malecón avenue, they spotted a black Volkswagen Jetta vehicle that was going at full speed, and that when they noticed the presence of the police they tried to evade them.

It was at the junction of 16 de Septiembre and Río Nilo where the crew fired at the police unit and then fled.As a result, the agents repelled the attack and the pursuit of the vehicle began.

During its passage, the crew of the Jetta They collided with a motorcyclist and a Hyundai model car, before ending up impacted, at the crossing of Río Nilo and Manzano, against a Seat Ibiza in which a pregnant woman was traveling, who was reported as stable by Red Cross paramedics. Of the other two cases, no injuries are reported.

It was at this point that state elements managed to arrest three of those named, who were assured of a revolver-type firearm. According to what was reported to the corporation by witnesses, a fourth man had fled.

The detainedsaid the preventive commissioner, Gerardo Inzúa, they are 19, 25 and 32 years old. No police officers or civilians were reported injured by the detonations of firearms.

The facts were reported to the Public Ministry of the State Prosecutor’s Office to initiate the corresponding investigations into what happened and determine the legal situation of the detained men.
