New Delhi : The opposition groups called for a joint parliamentary commission (JPC) to investigate the Pegasus case. The Congress made such a public demand, while the Shiv Sena made a statement to the chairman of Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, the issue caused quite a stir in both houses of Parliament on Tuesday. Opposition parties, particularly Congress, have resorted to aggressive tactics to surround the government in the Pegasus case. If Pegasis can manipulate smartphones, why not EVM? Opposition in Parliament is aggressive
Congress and allied leaders met today. Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge, CPN leader Sharad Pawar, Tiruchi Siva from DMK, Derek O’Brien from Trinamool Congress, Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena, Ram Gopal Yadav from Samajwadi Party, Manoj Jha from Rashtriya Janata Dal and others se met before the start of Parliament. On the other hand, the leaders of the Congress also met to discuss the strategy in the Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile, congressional parliamentarians in both houses had tabled a motion to adjourn and demanded an immediate discussion on the issue. In the Rajya Sabha. C. Venugopal, Shaktisinh Gohil, while in the Lok Sabha, Manikam Tagore and Gaurav Gogoi made the proposal.
As soon as the Lok Sabha began at 11 am, the Speaker called a question and answer session. However, the proceedings were postponed until 2 p.m. in just six minutes after congressional MPs began shouting slogans on the Pegasus issue. The Lok Sabha could not function even in the afternoon. Also in Rajya Sabha, due to the confusion, the presidents had to resume work twice in phases.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Shiv Sena, group leaders Lok Sabha Vinayak Raut, Gajanan Kirtikar, Arvind Sawant, Sadashiv Lokhande, Kripal Tumane and Dhairyashil Mane handed over the spokesperson. Congress MP Balu Dhanorkar was present along with Shiv Sena MPs.
