Square Enix has renamed two mobile titles from Final Fantasy suggesting new 2D versions or 3D remakes soon. The games in question are Final fantasy 3 me Final fantasy 4, both renamed with the words “Remake 3D” complete with new icons. The update applies to Android and iOS versions.
Two mobile titles from Final Fantasy have been renamed with the wording “Remake 3D”. As noted by user @ShaunMusgrave on Twitter, the mobile versions of the Final fantasy 4 me Final fantasy 3 both have been updated to include wording “Remake 3D” in the title and a new banner in the application icon. This has led some to believe that there will soon be more 3D remakes or 2D versions of both games. This change applies to the iOS and Android versions of the two games.
The interesting thing about this rebrand is that the originals Final Fantasy 3 and 4 , which were released on the SNES and PlayStation in the early 1990s, feature pixel-based graphics, while the mobile version opts for chibi-style 3D graphics. This could explain why the developers want to distinguish the two versions in case they really intend to update the titles in the app store.
