Riot Games has announced that it plans to bring Valorant to mobile devices to celebrate the title’s first anniversary.
It seems like yesterday, but Valorant, the new title from Riot Games, has been running on consoles around the world for a year. In this year the game has marked 14 million monthly users and an export league has also been formed. The next step, as announced by the developer himself, is a mobile version.
Creating a mobile version of their flagship games is something that is becoming fashionable among the big developers. It is certainly not a simple operation since very often it involves some way of compressing titles with complex architecture and making them playable on devices with excellent performance but still different from those of a console.
Riot, apparently, has decided to embark on this new adventure following in the footsteps of, for example, Epic that brought Fortnite to mobile devices.
Riot Games and the challenge of Valorant mobile
The announcement of a mobile version of Valorant is approaching the anniversary of the Riot Games’ first game release. In the same announcement, the developer also reveals that it plans to celebrate its new game with a month of events. At the moment, we do not have great details about the Valorant mobile, but we can reasonably assume that it will follow in the footsteps of the other mobile ports of the titles that we know well, one above all. Obligations.
As for the celebrations that will last for a whole month for the players there will be digital gifts, to Approve free for one event, one card player to be redeemed and various other surprises scattered throughout the month. If Valorant mobile were to do what Call of Duty Mobile did for the original game, the number of players on Valorant is at risk of tripling, but it is clearly a positive risk. In fact, this is what Call of Duty Mobile along with the free game Warzone have managed to do for the Call of Duty saga.
