The report of the Notre Dame site on Rai3

More than a year after the fire that severely damaged Notre Dame de Paris, the construction site is proceeding to restore the monument to its original splendor, a goal to be completed in 2024, the year of the Olympic Games in the French capital. For the last episode of the season, Borders takes us to the heart of what has been defined by President Macron as the “construction site of the century”, and also speaks to the Italian professionalism behind the scenes of this great work. THE NOTRE DAME CONSTRUCTION SITE IN THE AIR ON RAI3

Director Franco Di Mare will tell us about these “Italians without borders” at the service of the Parisian shipyard: the protagonists are the architect Carlo Blasi, Unesco consultant and architect Livio De Luca Research Director of the CNRS Paris and Scientific Coordinator of the digital construction site for the restoration of Notre Dame, Giusto Manetti Battiloro family, Made in Italy excellence: artisans who since 1600 have reduced the gold in sheets, required in the world for jobs such as the restoration of Big Ben, or by the Russian oligarchs to decorate their villas. A journey that will start from the artisan tradition to the most advanced technologies related to the arts, such as polymer processing techniques through digital tools. This is the case of the copy of David from Miguel Angel which will represent our country at the Dubai Expo, perfectly duplicated for the first time thanks to a very high resolution digital scan and a state-of-the-art 3D printer. These and many other curiosities will be revealed in the episode broadcast by Rai3.
