Valve president Gabe Newell appears to have teased the upcoming arrival of Valves games to home consoles. if we are to believe very recent statements. We may have more news later in the year.
Half-Life: Alyx sur PSVR2?
It falls a bit from anywhere, but we’re more or less used to the unexpected with Gabe Newell, the big boss at Valve and Steam. During a question and answer session at a New Zealand public school, your answer to one of the questions leaves little doubt:
“Will Steam transfer games to consoles or will they stay on PC?” “
Gabe Newell: “You will have a better idea by the end of the year.”
Although the question refers to Steam, it obviously refers to titles owned by Valve such as Half-Life, Portal, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress or Left 4 Dead encore. Valve games on consoles, of course, are not new, but the last one was in 2012 with the release of Counter Strike Global Offensive on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Today, we obviously think of Half Life: Alyx that we can see very well reaching a PSVR2 that is being talked about more and more. However, we know that Valve is working on other games and it is very possible that they will not be limited to the PC to reach a wider audience. These are just guesswork, but we can’t wait to find out what the company is planning for next-gen consoles. Let’s be crazy, and why not a port of The orange box on Switch too for example?
