Cyberpunk 2077: patch 1.1 is here and it’s a turning point

Date:

We’ll keep it tight this time – everyone has been waiting for the new patch after Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.06 became available very quickly after launch. Now here is the new patch 1.1. While developer CD Projekt Red originally had completely different plans for this year, the company recently released the new roadmap with a statement on stability issues.

This represented a turning point in the previous strategy. Instead of content, fans, sometimes quite angry, are now waiting for updates that allow them to play the new RPG hit. Of course, this mainly applies to the older generation of consoles – this was where most of the problems were found. Therefore, CD Projekt Red had announced that it would now deal with performance and bug fixes. Now we have received the proof. Since yesterday all players can download Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.1.

Patch 1.1 promises better performance

As already mentioned, patch 1.1 focuses on performance and stability. The developers put a disclaimer in the patch notes and refer to the upcoming patch 1.2; they are currently evaluating comments and correcting bugs. Meanwhile, of course, it comes down to the general gameplay. Therefore, the new patch should be seen as the cornerstone for future improvements.

Presumably you know that patch 1.1 will not be able to solve all problems either, but most of the team’s resources are currently focused on improving it. If PC gamers already had a head start, it’s probably the improvements for the console versions that make this patch such a relief. However, this will only become apparent in the next few days.

There should be a significant performance improvement in crowded areas when using PlayStation 4 Pro or PS5. Unintentional crashes on the PS4 should now be history.

For Xbox One, Series X, and Series S, the main concern was better memory management. This should allow for a smoother gaming experience. There are also minor changes here on the other systems.

But something has also changed with the PC, because the startup problems with some NVIDIA cards have also been eliminated.

With the revamped patch, CD Projekt Red proves that the team is not putting its head in the sand. A lot of work is done here to ensure that all players get the gaming experience that was promised to them for Cyberpunk 2077.
