Google Pixel owners should be aware of the infamous long-standing bugs that have been resurrected on some devices.As reported by Android police, This infamous Pixel bug causes havoc on all sensors on the device and essentially destroys key handset features such as compasses, gyroscopes and proximity sensors. The bug was first discovered after the release of Android 10 last year, at the time Pixel 4 and earlier devices (2016 Pixel and Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL.
And now this bug is back with great success. The Pixel 5, the owner of some of Google’s latest mobile phones, has been affected by frustrating issues.
This bug doesn’t seem to affect most of the Pixel 5 devices, but there are reports that it has plagued many people in the Google support community.
One of the affected users who owns a Pixel 5 writes: “The sensor was working at first (I’m sure it’s because you can see the picture taken the right way at first).
“A few days later, the phone restarted several times. When it stopped, all the sensors stopped working. There is no compass in Google Maps. All apps don’t turn around and save photos incorrectly.

“Proximity during a call doesn’t work at all (the phone next to your ear doesn’t turn off the screen. You’ll have to do this manually).
“The screen brightness is no longer auto-adjusted. I often get errors that stop the system UI from working.
“I think the software is also affected by this flaw.
“I didn’t do anything to this phone. When the reboot happened, it was lying on an untouched coffee table.
“I can only think of two things. It’s a big software issue, but I can’t find any clues elsewhere on the web, so the sensor bar is actually properly attached to the hardware. I don’t think it’s or it’s broken. “

While another person wrote: “All sensors such as compass, proximity, accelerator, barometer, etc. will not work. I checked an app that displays information on all sensors. I only have WiFi, battery, GPS. Google Maps also doesn’t have a compass arrow. I restarted and tried it in safe mode, but nothing improved. “
The latest batch of sensor issues is very similar to previous Pixel issues caused by Pixel “persistent” partition corruption.
Thankfully, Google says the recently released December 2020 update fixes a number of Pixel issues related to sensors.
After the patch was released, some Pixel 5 fans writing in a thread on the Google Support community said they had resolved the issue that caused the patch.

In other Pixel news, the last update of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL has been released.
The last wireless update for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, RP1A.201005.004.A1-, will be released by Google this month.
This final patch release will be released after the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have been updated for three years and are no longer supported in October.
The last update to the Pixel 2 is a security patch delayed in November.
