Nintendo raised its annual financial forecast by recording huge profits in 2020, selling millions of Switch Consoles and tens of millions of copies of both new and evergreen games.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has recorded an astonishing 26 million sales since its launch in March. This is twice the sales of the previous New Leaf. Its huge sales are just behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Switch’s best-selling game and longtime evergreen seller.
Sales of Pokemon Swords and Shields totaled 19.2 million units, making it the best-selling pair of Pokemon games since the legendary Gold and Silver in 1999.
The home exercise game Ring Fit Adventure has sold an additional 3.1 million units in the last six months, accelerating to a total of 5.8 million units since its launch last year.
Fifteen of Nintendo’s own games, including Switch mogul such as Breath of the Wild and Smash Brothers Ultimate, have sold at least one million additional copies since the beginning of the April fiscal year.
Switch sales over the last six months have increased by 80% compared to the same period last year, while game sales have increased by 71%. The 12.5m Switch console was sold along with the cool 100m Switch game.
The Nintendo Switch is currently sold on a total of 68.3 million consoles. In other words, overtaking NES, it became Nintendo’s own home console (Switch is called Nintendo’s own definition), and became the second largest seller after Wii.
All of this led to Nintendo’s rosy economic profits, with semi-annual sales up 73% to $ 7.4 billion and operating profit up 209% year-on-year to $ 2.8 billion.
Nintendo hasn’t elaborated on why it’s been such a stellar year, but the hugely successful Animal Crossing: New Horizons launch may give the big picture. .. By 2020, people are flocking to Nintendo, especially its own brand, Switch, as we all spend more time at home and need entertainment.
