There are many points from the iOS 14.2 release candidates. If you’re using a previous iOS 14.2 beta, the annoying “new iOS update is now available. Please update from iOS 14 beta” that occurs every time you unlock your iPhone. This has been fixed in this update. In my opinion, that’s enough to update.
One of the biggest new features in iOS 14.2 is the improved AirPlay 2 interface in Control Center. You can find much larger album artwork in the Control Center for the media you are currently playing. There is also an icon in the lower right corner of the album artwork that indicates the source of the media.
In addition to these changes, both the Control Center and the lock screen now show recommended media when nothing is playing. Headphones must be plugged in before the suggested media is displayed on the lock screen.
There is also a convenient new AirPlay 2 popover to access other AirPlay 2 compatible devices on your network. This includes all-new animations that occur when the media is currently playing on those devices. You can access this popover from anywhere you can choose your AirPlay 2 device, including the lock screen, control center, and music apps.
There is also a new Shazam toggle that you can add to the Control Center. With this toggle, you can unobtrusively learn the details of the songs playing in your environment without having to call Siri.
Undoubtedly, the two biggest new features in iOS 14.2 are 8 new wallpapers and over 100 new emojis. The new wallpaper stands out because it’s a full-screen wallpaper that’s less abstract than modern Apple wallpapers. There is also a dark version of the eight new wallpapers included for when the user switches to dark mode.
New emojis include all kinds of new emojis, including ninjas, disguised faces, boomerangs, and more. We recommend that you use the emoji search feature of iOS 14 to find new favorites.
iOS 14.2 too New intercom features Demonstration with the unveiling ceremony HomePod mini at Apple’s iPhone 12 event.. There’s a new intercom button in the upper right corner of the Home app that you can use to communicate with HomePods in different parts of your home. Users can also use Siri to call new intercom features as a way to communicate with household members.
